They stiped the top soil off one of our oldest school lots this past weekend and my buddy and I practically ran to get there first. he brought another friend and we hit it hard for about 4 hours, This school sets right across the old Zane's Trail. My very first Shield Nickle!!

My MX Sport killed them both, all they found was wheat's!!!

Great hunt! A couple years ago at an old 1800s homesite, I found a relic just like the "loop w/eyelet" that you have in the middle of your pics. I was never able to figure out what it was. Do you or any of the other folks here know what that may be?

The piece you question looks like part of a swivel hook to me.
