Detector(s) used
AT PRO and a BH 505 that I let friends and relatives I don't like use.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I going to upgrade my Pro coil from the stock to either a Garrett 5x8 or a NEL Snake.
Both are DD.
Anyone have any experience on which one performs better on depth ?
I know Garrett stands behind their products, NEL on the other hand is not made in the U.S. but in the Ukraine with a 3 year warranty and it can be returned in the U.S.
I'm assuming Garrett gives 2 years on a new coil.
So I'm looking for advice on which is the better coil for hunting the really trashy areas.

I haven't used the NEL on my AT Pro but the Garrett 5x8 will never come off again. It's awesome in the trash.

Not a whole lot of opinions on this I guess ?

The NEL tornado runs awesome on the at gold in the open fields so I'm sure the snake would be good also. But if you don't have the Garrett 5x8 yet that would be my first purchase.

The 5x8 has proven itself here to the point I just purchased a new AT Pro with the 5x8 coil for a specific hunt coming up. I have no exeperience with Nel coils. I always buy the manufactures coils as they are made for the machine. If I ever see a nel coil used with success I might be persuaded to change my mind.

garrett 5x8 for me...could not be happier

My mothers back yard has the most junk ever. It's like my detector is singing a symphony when im back there... the 5x8 has been a saving grace I tell ya. It's such a good and light weight coil, swings easy, very sensitive, get great depth and it's very small which I like. Would love to see a sniper coil in use, but ill keep my 5x8
