🏆 HONORABLE MENTION UPDATE: 1963 Notre Dame High School class ring RETURNED to one Happy Owner

Hello friends, well the metal detecting gods smiled on me again yesterday. Been hunting this old park for the past 3 outings, and my friend Jess and I always manage to get a few keepers.

Getting dark towards the end of our hunt last night around 7:30PM when I get this large ring/VDI 45 signal on my Whites Eagle Spectrum. After diggin' shotgun shells all evening, this honker popped out of the hole.

Its a 1963 Notre Dame high school class ring from Greensboro, NC. Inscribed inside is the ring maker(JENKINS 10K) and the owner of the ring. Only took me 20 minutes to locate the owner now 65 and living in Florida. Needless to say when I talked to him last night, he was lost for words and overwhelmed. Gonna do the right thing and return it to him 48 years later.

UPDATE: Returned to "One Happy Owner" from Pennsylvania to Florida. See attched return letter below.........

Awsome find and future return. I sure hope if someone finds my class ring which was lost in VA but high school was in Oklahoma. But it was not lost that way someone stole it when we were moving back to OK.

I am lucky enough to be hunting with Rich, and I have to say its really been fun. We have found a few coins, some match box cars, spoons, bullets, shotgun shells, even a lead toy soldier.... but the ring is just awesome. I cant believe how quickly he found the owner. I took the pics, emailed them to him, and two hours later he had made contact already. Way to go Rich.
