Hey Ya'll, I just finished putting that cannister round I found last week through electrolysis. I put a coat of clear coat on it. I was debating on whether or not to put the clear coat on it so let me know what you guys think. (CivilMan and Kindafoundabuckle, this is what yours would look like)

Thanks, your info was most helpful. I have also studied the CW for several years, and I am basically looking into Valley Campaigns, W, VA & MD troop movements. I think areas outside main battlefields may yield good results. Only problem is my distance, even with maps it will take a good time to sort out searchable areas that have public access. But being the CW buff I am it will be worth it; I just want to find my own little piece of history.
 

That really cleaned up well and to have something from the Civil War is exciting.
 

Looks like the electrolysis worked out great. The cannister shot looks great. Nice collection of relics/artifacts too. Keep up the great work.
