Is the stem/shaft solid or hollow at the tip?

Looking at the solid sq. bit it is for just a passage instead of security, as there's no wards or clefts in the bit.

It is in fact hollow at the tip ... I don't know why but maybe you can enlighten me ..

Because I don't know the value, I stuck $100 on it, I know that is high, but anybody can offer me anything and I will consider it.
I have to start trying to sell my collect, or I'm going to be old and dead before I do anything with it.

I can take good pictures of everything and then put them in one of those electronic display frames so people can see the things I've dug, and a list of the prices gained for the item..

Like these bills I just sold, that have been in a box for 15 years... I listed others that have not gotten bids, but can anyone explain to me why these 3 bills are worth $40 ?

Then to declutter one's life before the inevitable seems like the thing to do.

The job of the executor will be smiling as there's clutter to deal with, just a number on a balance sheet.

I for the moment will keep the clutter and the executor will just have to earn the 5% instead.
