after cleaning the dirt and charcoal out of it it went from 4.76 oz to 4.49 oz had it confirmed as silver im pretty stoked about it as it is my second blob of silver from the same site and i hope to find some more this is my biggest find to date being all my gold so far has been plated . thanks for looking and HH!!

Cool finds...nice little surprises. Does your site have a history of silver manufacture/processing or are these just "random" finds?
 
i know ther was a bar, general store, warehouse, and tinsmith shop from the mid 1850's to early 1900's
 
and looks like there was a building fire also

Pretty much what I figured. Just was curious.

I'm beginning to think that reading above 90 have more to do with how thick the metal is as opposed to the type of metal.
