These finds are from the past week at an old park in Western NY State. I am just starting the research on the class ring in hopes of returning it. There are 4 South River High Schools in the US that I have found so far. Any help appreciated.
The half cent is toast, I was able to positively identify it by type only, no date, and then lost a lot of detail in the hydrogen peroxide bath.
The Chinese cash coin looks in pretty good shape, perhaps not that old. Anyone got a date for this one
1920 D Merc, 1893 Indian cent, 1916 Buffalo, and a 1905 Barber.
****UPDATE
With the help of the South River Historical & Preservation Society, Inc. I obtained a name from an old alumni listing of the class of 1971 from the initials inside the ring. A Google and Facebook search put me in contact with the surprised owner who lost it 38 Years ago. The ring is being sent to him in the morning via insured mail.
