How many of you have upgraded to a Paypal business account? What do you need in order to do so? I much prefer the idea of using a business name rather than my personal name. Any info would be appreciated because as far as I am concerned even with a PO box as the return address you must use your home address for paypal and the buyer has access to that? Just trying to get all of the details!

Mine is a business account, I have no idea how it came to be.

So is mine and I use my Business address not home

Mine is also a business account. I guess that is how it was setup when I joined. I was accepting credit cards using those two-part carbon-copy forms for my business and got tired of getting different surprise fees charged every month. Then I heard about this new company and decided to join. I have never had an extra charge and I can easily live with 2.9% +.30¢ per sale.

The only thing I do not like is at the end of the year I download a spreadsheet with every transaction my account had for the whole year. (for tax purposes) For one transaction there might be 6 or 7 entry lines. Only need one for the sale and one for shipping charge. All the extras are duplicates for their record keeping (I guess) and I have to go in and delete all the extras so my bookkeeping adds up correctly.

Someone somehow got ahold of my card number several years ago and charged up about $300. I called and they completely took care of everything and put the money back and sent a new card. They even told me where some charges were made. Porn, Swiss bank account and sign up for AOL. The only problem AOL kept charging me every month for services. I kept calling and explaining and they would take away the charge and PROMISE it would not happen again. It happened at least four times. Funny thing is they were charging my new card number. Somehow they had access to that number.

I got switched and didn't even get. A notice

While registering only there will be option called, Normal or business account. I think we can convert to normal account.

Paypal and Ebay are rip offs. Stay away if you can...

Sadly what are the other options for small individuals to sell their items.

There are a few free sites like Craigslist, offer up and next door. Most people know how to use Paypal so you can still get paid but don't have to pay Ebays fees.
