Urban Renewal Project Update

As many of you know I have been working an area where an old part of town is having all the houses torn down for a commercial development project. Anyway, I have been hunting it on and off for a couple of months. The only worthwhile find I have to show is a V nickel dated 1907. I met an older fellow yesterday who has also been hunting the area nearly every day he says. I had seen some digging marks and knew someone else was there. He has found an Indian penny, some silver Mercs and a nice token. Besides the nickel I have found some trash, a Pluto the Dog toy, a toy alligator. a U. S. mess kit spoon and a few cents in clad. It just goes to show that the loot is there. It's just a matter of putting that coil in the right place and digging! So far I haven't. There is probably 40 vacant lots there and about 20 more to go. I should be down there now instead of yacking with you guys! No comments required, just wanted to let you know what I had been up to lately. Monty

I found something! Don't know what it is. About the size of a silver dollar but not quite as thick. I think I can make out some kind of inscription or picture on it but it is a cookie coin and I have it in vinegar soaking. One guy speculated it was a very large electrical punch out but I never saw one that big. I'll post it under what is it if I can get some of the crud off. I hope it's a token of some kind. Right now a picture wouldn't show anything. Monty

Well, just my luck. It does appear to be a very large electrical box punch out! It's magnetic and is just gray metal under the rust. That's the way things have been going at this particular site, but darn it I know there is treasure to be found there! Monty
