Hey guys,
I dug this a few months back and never had a chance to post it. I'm in the northeast so I never though I'd dig one of these up here. I was doing a cellar hole and got a real load larger signal. When I dug down and saw the US i almost screamed. Its a Civil war US ammo box plate. Back is stamped W.H. Smith Brooklyn. Thanks for lookin

Excellent Find! Especially since as you stated you're in the Northeast. Definitely one of the Holy Grails of American Metal detecting!

Inspiring goes to show you can find them anywhere , Great relic , I would like to dig up a US plate in SNJ :coffee2:

With your luck, we need to keep you out of our civilwar camps. (lol). You not only found a super keeper but the thing is marked. Do you realize how hard that is to find.
