US Army Button and 1900's saw mill finds

Found this US Army button yesterday. I think it's from WWII. The back says New York Button - RKS - AN. Is that WWII or WWI? Also The site I was digging in used to be a saw mill from the 1900's. Check out the video of the stuff I found!

That first item in the video (the "swivel thing") is a universal joint, or u-joint. You see them on drive shafts for cars and trucks, PTO shafts for power equipment, and other places.

The "hook thing" in the video looks like a clevis hitch with the second eye broken off. A pin would have inserted through the eyes. Something similar to this.
