I was reading my local newspaper and I see that a developer has bought a former retreat house along the ocean in Long Branch NJ. Before this was a retreat house it was the summer home of George Childs, a friend of US Grant. I keep reading and I see that Grant built a summer 'cottage' right next to Child's and it was demolished in 1963. Where Grant's cottage once stood is now an open field next to the vacant retreat house. It's part of the same developer owned lot. I'm heading there tomorrow and coming in from the beach. Nobodys around this time of year, except me and fisherman.
