a very good day for me. Plate IS bent in the middle. Notice there is leather still in the plate hooks after 143 years.

funny you ask, it was basically under neath the roots of a rotten tree. I toppled it and it came out with one scoop of dirt.

Backbonz, Congratulations! Were you in a camp area? Were you CW hunting or yard hunting? give us some details. You should be very proud. I would clean the front of it but thats it. You could wipe the front with olive oil and that will help to clean also. Again, nice going! Here are 3 I dug in 4 weeks. Between Nov. and Dec. 05.
