I made this discovery a while ago, I was searching the area where on December 16, 1944 Battle of the Bulge began.
The 99th US Infantry Division, about 10.000 young and inexperienced soldiers, nicknamed „the battle-babies fought a hard battle against German troops in this area
At first I did not found much because the area is very well known and many people have searched in this woods.
After a while I got a good signal and just below the ground i found a U.S. bayonet in sheath . not much later I saw that there was another one next to it ... even complete.
This was definitely a good day for me
I was a few days in this region so I would have to wait before I got them out off the sheaths.
After i have cleaned them the bayonets are still in fine condition, especially after all the years that they have layed under the ground.
They are now on display among the other finds from WWII

WoW very beautiful finds you got there. And they look to be in very great shape.

99th

You are so lucky to find them, my grandfather Fred Taddeo was in the 99th 393rd company C. He started the war in the bulge, he must of been close to those beauty's. Enjoy em!

I found many great WWII relics while I was stationed in Germany but never did find any bayonets. Congratulations! They are in great shape.
