USA button, looks like bar cent

I was granted permission to detect on some old property and found this button which is similar to some colonial coinage called bar cent.
Can anyone shed some info on this? It has a letter K on shank side. Feels like heavy lead or pewter.

I could be wrong, but I think some of the repros of that button have a letter on the back.
