I found these last Sunday but have not been able to determine what they came off of or if they're even from the air force. I posted them on a military forum but no luck there. Also searched Google to no avail.
These three tags were in close proximity to each other as were the plain brass bars. Don't know if they are related but posting them just in case it helps with the ID.
The property where I was detecting had an old farm dump and all five of these items were on the trail leading to the dump.
The brass tags have USAF ESLE and AF machine stamped on them. One tag has the number 2127 stamped in it and is smaller than the other two. The other numbers on the tags are hand engraved.
Hoping someone will recognize these and know what they came off of.

I would say Air Force, but not a "Dog Tag" but I would bet it to be an equipment tag of some sort.

I could only find one match to a search on ESLE, in a 1982 DoD document on page 384. (see attachment)

Electronic Survivor Location Equipment (ESLE) appears to be an obsolete system that was at least, a part of the USAF HH-60D helicopter. (HH-60D Night Hawk: Prototype of combat rescue variant for the US Air Force.)

The full document can be found at :

Thanks Bullbat! That's some deep digging there! Good find on that document. I bet that's what these came from
