Used Detector

Thinking about buying a detector. Nope never seen "Diggers", don't watch crap TV. What I do is play in the outdoors when I can mostly prospecting anymore. I'm looking for something that MAY nugget shoot. I am willing to spend $500 or so. Figure if I by used I'll get better. I'm not one the need the lastest or greatest anything. Never bought a new car even though at times I was able. Know it's gonna take time to learn these things, but don't want something thats gonna out smart me. What should I be looking at. I may do a little reg. detecting, probably no salt beaches but around river banks, Dry land and such. Don't want something that my skills will outgrow next year. I can only afford one and have limited space to put one. What do you think? More I read the more cornfused I get!

A White's MXT can be picked up used at that price.

It was built basically on the GMT which is a gold machine.

The MXT has a dedicated prospecting mode, a relic mode, and a coin/jewelry mode.

Very simple and easy to use, and you will definitely not outgrow it.

Well I bought used. Got the MXT. Now just waiting for it to get here. Nervous about it but hope I get a good one. One I've been thinking about for a couple years. Almost bought it 2 years ago but didn't I recently sold a bunch of lead that I was saving up. I was a plumber for 33 years and saved a lot from old pipe I took out on repipes. Had it all melted down to ingots and stacked around in the shop to use for fishing weights and such. Time to down size so made it go away. Had enough to buy the MXT I wanted but not a new one. Sweet Home is only 6 hours from here anyway.
