How many of you use a pinpointer when detecting in the sand/surf at the beach, in addition to a regular sand scoop? It seems like on some of my signals, I dig to China without finding anything, then I get frustrated and just abandon it as a waste of time. It just occurred to me that a pinpointer would really come in handy for hard-to-find, deep objects like that.

I never go without it. Invaluable for those really small items.

Just one more item to lose. My scoop holes are small enough I find stud earrings.

Make yourself happy. I never use one at the beach, and my buddy won't leave home without hers!

I never personally use mine in water or on beach
If i hit the wet sand at low tide - which is rare - my GF will walk with me and use it
she gets excited uncovering finds
you got kids - its something to do to spend time with them
I always use one on land...dirt digs
It saves so much time and can help prevent damage to items

I hunted 30 ish years without one. Now, I no longer dive, where everything is magnified. The ol peepers aren’t what they used to be. And I have discovered like you say, sometimes the target is in the sand wall part way to the bottom. Last week I got a Garret carrot. I was surprised how fast it showed up in Boston from Texas. I love it. Looking for a tactical chest or leg holster for it.
