Using the wrong coil on a detector

What happens when I put a coil for my GMT on my MXT. Are thwere finals or whatever that might be blown out or will it just operate at the MXT's lower freqency. Also if I reversed this and put the MXT's coil on higher freqency GMT. I would really like to know--Thanks

Most likely it just won't work.

Look at the connector plug; some coils have different connectors even within the same mfg.

I am not a tech, and don't know much about it, but I would contact White's and ask this question of them, before you do something that will destroy your coils or detectors.
