So trying to find out some information on using my spectra vx3 stock 9.5 coil in say a foot of water, is this safe and has anyone else done this? Not finding a whole lot of information on this machine, searched youtube and the browsing the internet and nothing?

Coil is waterproof.

Box is not.

Keep the box nice and dry and you'll be fine. Get it wet and .. well things won't be fine.

Protecting the head/box is probably a good idea. Even a plastic bag wrapped around the box is better than no protection at all. Spray from wind/waves can be an issue if the box isn't protected.

Ok, thank you. Yeah I would be wading small creeks and nothing really over a foot.
