Went out for another couple hours today to see if I could track down some gold but found this silver ring instead. I guess I can't be too sad since it's still nice find. I wonder how long it's been lost since it's pretty beat up. Thanks for looking and happy hunting

Pretty cool find! :icon_thumright:

Nice save, I'm guessing maybe the 50's or early 60's. How old is the place you are hunting and the coins you are digging might help give a clue. I think 925 kicked in early 60's in the US. The design of the ring is more 60's but I've found class rings from the 50's similar but rare. Very cool find for sure.

The oldest coin I have seen there with a readable date was 1979, all other coins are like the picture or thinner. Wish I could wear it since I'm a Navy veteran. One of these days I might have to get me some of those nice Excalibur mods you make. HH

..: NICE FIND Racso :..

rings are just sweet finds, sure some are junk but that's a good one

Not to give away your digging hole but was this a park, residents, permission?
Just curious.
Very nice ring.

Congrats on the ring! :occasion14:
Pretty cool find... imagining it with a nice Ruby on the front.

Very nice ring.

I do 99% Beach hunting and 1% prospecting. I'm thinking of starting to do coin hunting and see how bad I can do on that one too. HH

Congrats on the ring! :occasion14:

A ruby sure would be great. I hope to stumble on a nice wedding band with nice size diamond or a heavy gold chain, whishful thinking.

I dug one of these a while back and thought it was strange that it is marked sterling yet looks plated.Mine looks a lot like yours but not really sure. Is yours plated sterling? it looks a bit off. I would think that if these are Navy rings that they would be solid silver as a alternative for gold. I cant imagine how a plated ring could be a standard for rings of this type such as a class ring or similar. Any thoughts?

Mine is really worn from being beat up by the ocean and rocks. I tested mine with a vdi and rings up as silver. Also polished it a little and the silver is coming thru so I suppose it's silver. Your looks quite nice.
