This was a challenging, but fun yard. A ton of unevenly distributed mineralization meant that I had to adjust the sensitivity every few paces, but it paid off time and time again. I found a decent crotal bell and conestoga bell complete with the clapper. Those bells always looks so majestic coming out of the ground and I've been surprised by how many complete ones I've found this past year.

I found this beautiful 1888 V nickel within 2" of the surface and then not even a foot away my first shield nickel!

It looked great out of the ground, but it's been deteriorating despite preservation attempts. It was under a pine tree so the acid really did a number on it. I did get the date off it though; it was an 1868, so that's at least something.

The rest of the day was a good assortment of relics including 10 wheat pennies (1936, 1938, 1941, 2x 1942, 1948, 1952, 1955, 2x 1957) and one 1862 indian head cent. The iron wheel is sort of strange, but looks like it was off a toy wagon or something similar. There's also the tiny bridle rosette and a brass thimble in good shape. Not bad for a few hours!
