My parents have asked me to make an inquiry of you fine folks. They have the following coin that got passed to them years ago and don't know anything about it other than it is stamped $100 value. The coin celebrates the Olympics from 776BC to 1976 Montreal Olympics.

I have included 2 pics of the coin (not a scratch on it) and 2 pics of the package it comes in (has coin details on it).

It's quite pretty to look at but is this coin worth anything more than the $100 stamped on it?

Thanks for your help.

Yep! The coin is worth around $385.00 at today's SPOT. I'm not sure if it carries a collectable or numismatic premium above that which may add to the value.

Thanks guys. I already knew about the 2 different coins similiar coins. I have the cheaper of the 2 unfortunately.

ROOTER - how do I find out if it carries a collectable or numismatic premium? is that just if a collector wants it and deems it so?

Thanks Mackaydon. So the version i have is going for pretty much spot.

What I didn't mention was I recovered this coin from the seabed mixed amongst coins from the 1715 fleet. Does that make it more valuable?
