Anyone know the value of specific types of coal scrip/tokens? I know there are pricing guide books out there, but don't want to drop $40 for one.
The tokens in questions are from "Winding Gulf Coal" in WV. They are in 5 cent, 10 cent, 25 cent, 50 cent, $1, $5 and $10 denominations. I've seen the lower denominations ($1 and less) on sale on ebay etc for between $3 and $7 per piece, but I've seen very few of the $5 and $10 pieces around.
The tokens are circulated, but in good condition.
If anyone is willing to help me out that would be great appreciated!
