Relic Hunting
Went hunting for a few hours with a friend. Found these bullets and a few shell fragments most were deep. Funny thing is the round ball and one 3 ringer were right on top of the ground, well stained but on top. Fell out of another hunter's pouch maybe? They were so loud I was surprised they were bullets, was expecting some trickster-trash. I'm liking those bamboo skewers for scraping the scale off of bullets; they're a lot more efficient than toothpicks and are inexpensive too.

good haul of CW! and quite a variety too. gotta love the lead!

Nice finds! I’ve found some bullets in the remains of previous holes from other diggers. I guess they didn’t have a pinpointer. Lol. I mix water and a little bit of ammonia together than dip the bullets for about a minute. The dirt falls right off and the patina stays.

I'll try it! Thanks for the tip. It is very rare that I find a dropped bullet so very few of my bullet finds are "collector grade" but I do want to do as little damage as possible.

Congrats on the nice assortment of bullets. A hand full of cleaners too, that’s nice stuff. Well done.

I used the bamboo skrews on crud covered CW bullets, last weekend. It worked well for me too.

Good luck to you sir.

Nice finds! I may try to use bamboo skewers too...
