VDB question

its in the groove between Lincoln's shoulder and the rim, very hard to get a photo of. Never heard of a 1955 no vdb. I'll have to look that one up.

I got that info off of coinrollhunting .com.

Got 3 '55 wheats, can't find VDB on any.

Like Jeffro said it is very hard to see, on the bottom rim of the shoulder, try looking for it on a new penny. Maybe it has worn off on your 55's, I agree with Jeffro never heard of a error for VDB. I am not saying there is not one .. I just have not heard of it. If there is such a thing I hope you have some.

They took it off in 1909, there are different stories as to why. My favorite is that is
sounded to much like "VD"

It was put back on, I think it was 1918, at a different location.
You can see it if you look hard enough on the pic I posted in my last post. You can see it
a little better on a new penny, if you tilt it just right, and your eyes are good.

It use to be one of the the things you checked for on a 1914D penny. If it was there then it was fake,
and most likely made from a 1944D.

My understanding It was Too much Like Bragging to Have
VDB so bold. So they Hid it under His Shoulder
