The season ended for me quite some time ago..... I figured it was time to get some pics together and do a post.

I started my season on March 15th with the recovery of an 1819 Large Cent. My last hunt of the season was on November 11th and that hunt produced a cut KG II copper. Lots of holes in between with some of my more noteable finds being 1812 belt plate, 1812 button, my first shoe buckle frame, 1836 Capped Bust Dime, and a picture frame cashe.

Coppers....

No Date cut KG II
1806 KG III Half Penny
1818 Coronet
1819 Coronet
1820 Coronet
1847 Braided Hair
No Date cut Braided Hair
1787 New Jersey Copper
Blacksmith Token !!!!!!!!!

I consider the Blacksmith Token to be my best find this year :headbang:

I had a great time diggin' this summer and I am looking forward to what the future sites will bring.

the blacksmith token, the bust dime, and the belt plate are ridiculous.
especially the token.

great year, VPR, and best of luck in 2011.

Great stuff there...I love that plate too "even tho it beat me to the banner" :laughing9: Seroiusly you dug some great stuff this year Congrats :icon_thumleft:

That Blacksmith token is beyond awesome :headbang:.....and the Belt plate would have made me swallow my tonsils. Good job this year.... ;D

Always a good year when its hard to pick your best find. The belt plate is amazing, but I do think that token tops it. Going to be hard to beat 2010 VPR, but I know your up for the task.

I'd have to call the Blacksmith and the plate a tie as both a great finds. Add in the rest and that's a heck of a year!

Nice bunch of history you have. That buckle will be a great center piece to a shadow box. :headbang:

great finds!!!!! that is a great season u had!!! MR TUFF

Thanks to all !!

2010 was a great year for me. I was able to secure permission on a piece of property that every one said that I would NEVER get. This property is the "Orchard". I have actually become friends with the owner and we sometimes just sit around and visit. He infact has secured permission on another local farm for me to hunt in the spring. He has been telling all of his friends how much of a service I am providing to him by removing alot of metal from his fields. ( Two flat, rear tractor tires in 35 years )

I have a friend that keeps a very large iron spike in the back of his truck to show farmers. It might have not come from their field, but they don't ask, and the message still gets across.

Wow awesome year u had, congrats!

You had a spectacular year VPR. Older up there than here in Ohio, for sure

Very nice old finds!!!! What a year! WTG!

I'm kinda partial to the Shield Nickel mold myself, excellent year of hunting
