Found a couple of nice points in super dry conditions. Almost waited for this field to get some rain but decided to give it a shot and hope for the best. Here's a couple of pics. These points were quite large so I'm guessing they were spear points.

Those are nice finds! Your "dry spell" of finding artifacts has been broken.

Great finds, that area should be great after some rain!

Nice finds you say quite large ? need something for size reference .

Very nice, the first one looks like Normanskill chert, the second maybe Normanskill or Onondaga Chert, and the last looks like Cheshire quartzite (from Vermont).

Sweet points have to go with the first one as my favorite....great shape.

Regards + HH

Bill

First two points were just under 3 inches in length. The quartz point a bit longer. First point cleaned up nice. Dark black in color which makes me think Mt Independence chert. Second point had brown strands in it which I call dirty flint. Not sure where that came from maybe the same place. I have many of the same material.

Thats great you were able to spot those in the clumps.
