Hi all. After reading about Carolina Tom's lead soldier find, it reminded me that I wanted to post this find I made from an early 1800's farmhouse site. It appears to be pewter or some type of white metal. It looks like perhaps a " beard " remnant was also cast into what must be a man's effigy. Anyone have an example or guess as to what it may have been?

Honest Abe missing his top hat?? Maybe a pin?

Possibility a piece of a spelter cast figure. They were a popular decor in Victorian times and they made many types of epic looking sculptures of these castings.

Agree. Abe Lincoln's ear. Just Google pewter Abe Lincoln and you'll see plenty of figurines and bookends of Ol' Abe.
