very strange!

i have found two bones like this. at some ohio shows, people told me it was not modern it looked to be a ceremonial or just ancient made. found the first one in waynesville ohio digging, the next in franklin ohio on a wall of a creek, that i find mant large bones in. i had proffesors tell me it was a bear or another type bone, but now i found two. maybe pre sliced ham. the cut is the same angle as the lines please help, they are exact.

looks to me like someone was cutting thin steaks too the bone, no idea on time period?

Trev, you are right. It is in fact a ham bone. Notice that the cut is spiraling down the bone.

Can you show the cut end of the bone? Maybe hold it out form the camera a bit further to see if the bone is more in focus.

My gut says Chuck is right, but a cross section of the bone should clear the issue up.

If they are indeed old and Indian related then they are probably a Rasp and were used as a musical instrument.

How do you date bones? If they aren't fossilized yet. The date as far as bones is concerned, is most crucial? I have some, but they aren't fossils. They just look really old, and cut not broken. kinda. Those look neat, but too evenly spaced? more machine like, than human hands. Just wondering.

Radio carbon test.
It's expensive and a destructive method.

I would also like to see a focused pic of the cut ends. Looks too old to be ham bones.

To items of interest on this. One... the cuts seem to be evenly spaced. Seems important. two... why is my phone number written on your hand Hahah. Interested to see what pans out on this.
