It looks like the reverse has a laurel wreath.
 

It's a liberty head (or "V") nickel. It looks like 190* for the date, possibly 1905. They wore down quickly in circulation and after ground action what's left of the detail quickly goes away. I've only ever found a couple in good shape. It's a good find though! Here's an 1883 one with all of the details for comparison:
