So I got a permission to hunt a 1923 house, but a sale is pending, owners need to be out this week. My honey-do list still exists, but wifey understood. This became an instant priority. Hit it hard for 5 hours, and in doing so, locked in OK'S from the neighbors...(future reference), guess it was the care I took in keeping the turf looking good, or my exuberance in showing all the trash I was removing from the yard:laughing7: Anyhoo, I was off to a good start, wheats, not so deep, some clad, no silver. Took a smoke break under a tree, started to check the dates on the lincolns, and oops, LOOKY HERE NOW

First IHC is special. Gotta love those green cents! -Tin Foil

indians are awesome u never get tired of digging them i found 2 in my own yard

Every time I dig a little green copper, I hold my breath until I can see if it's an IH. STILL none!:BangHead:

Sweet ihc!, I think theyre just as fun as silver to dig

Very nice Indian! :hello2: Haven't dug my first after 3 years, boo-hoo. :BangHead: My son has dug several just yards from where I was detecting, lol. :dontknow: Have fun! Andi

I remember my son's first, we thought it was a wheat. I didn't even know there was a Indian Head Cent back then. I remember telling him "wow this is a 1800's coin, this isn't a wheat!" It was a very exciting moment for another great memory!
Nice finds and good luck in the other yards, that's exciting too!

Of all the coins I can possibly find in my area the one I most look forward to finding is an Indian Head penny. I can't explain why as I don't understand it myself. Since I started detecting back in January I've found a total of 11 silver coins. And I love finding them, don't get me wrong. But every time I hunt a property with the correct age I am on the lookout for the elusive IH penny. Yours is really nice. Congratulations.

Nitric- I know what you mean, I was detecting & found nothing but junk, my son walks up with a ten dollar bill he found in the weeds at the edge of the parking lot, he was just walking around!

Stop looking for them. See what happens. ;)

Just nothing quite like the feeling of a surprise find in the pouch.

WTG!
