Be very careful and stay out of those mines unless you have the expertise and equipment to explore them...and never go alone. From all I have read or seen on TV on prospecting with a metal detector, old piles of tailings are your best bet. Several bits of gold and even nuggets are found in old mine tailings every day. I am not a gold prospector, but I try to keep up on the how tos. Monty

a remote control car with a small tv camera and a i.r. light on it they sell them cheap for home security thats a cool little exploring rig for old cave/mines

radio controled cars ahahahah i forget to tell the shafts are all vertical. they look like there angled but that caused by the position they are on the side of the hill. little red car roars down a slight decline and then over the edge.going -------------------------------down when hits ground water that has fill the bottom half of the shaft.also it will bounce of the sides on the way down crunch the camera just broke off lolololololololo

tinpan p.s red goes faster

tinpan do you find much coinage around the old bunkhouses, i live in the U.P. did some detecting around one old silver mine last summer, didn't find much but a little farther back in the hills there are some old gold mines, which Ive yet to locate, shouldn't be to hard, they are with in a square mile of the silver mine, from what Ive read none of them ran out of gold, the had money problems fully developing them, and problems with the hard rock and the stamp crushers of the time. around 1880,s, the silver mine was 1840s. the silver mine never produced though, but a lot of the quartz, out of the tailing piles has fine silver traces running through them. supposedly the gold mines were getting gold silver and copper out of them

Wow Tinpan ....that looks like a great area to hunt! You should be able to pull some great stuff out of there. I am with you on the "what ifs...." :)

Looks like a awesome place tinpan. Good luck with your hunt

Cool Area, Looks like some of the caves here.but with the jungle here! Like tohe bottles!
Keep up the good work!

When I see places like that I immediately think about lots of 8 legged, hairy "Tranchillers" everywhere or a mess of badly PMS'ed rattlers. I'll just stick to open lots with nothing but turfgrass. Hope you get a chance to shout "EUREKA!"
