✅ SOLVED Victorian Brooch?

I found this a few months back and never gave much thought as to what it is. Its perfectly flat on the back but I would still think a brooch maybe. Any thoughts?

You didn't mention the size, but I basically agree. Seems like a Japanned metal mourning brooch, made to look like it has faceted jet stones in it.

Its about 2 1/2 inches long and an inch tall. Its perfectly flat and the back looks just like the front.
