Is the front of that desk inlaid you should take a picture of that
 

I'm as confused by this as I was for your post about the WW2 watercolour!

That item was recently sold for $130. Also via Palmer's Auction Co, as for the watercolour.

Again, were you the buyer and either wondering if you got a bargain or hoping to re-sell for more? That looked like a good price to me and it probably is worth more... but the problem is that period brown furniture is stagnant market (at least it is over here in the UK).
 

I've seen similar desks at antique stores in NY state. Most were priced around $100 or so. I always open all the compartments because once as a kid I found a secret stash of papers inside from the late 1800's, I found that pretty fascinating. Sometimes people hid valuables in these desks since there were often secret compartments.
