I picked up a quadruple silver plated box - it measures - 4 1/3" length and width. I paid $10 at an outdoor fleamarket.
* It's made by Wilcox Silver Co. (see pics of Hallmark)
When you open the box, under the lid is an inscription to Saint Philip Neri.
"to the blessed sacrament in honor of St. Philip Neri"

Does anyone know how old this could be? I am hoping that it's from early 1900's. I really like the ornate pattern on the box and it goes all the way around it.

I checked on eBay and these boxes go anywhere between $20 on up to bigger $$. I don't know why there is such a big price difference on old silver plated boxes. I just hope mine goes for more than $20.

Let's hope it is not for the ashes of the deceased.

Oh no! I hope not! Never thought about it being for that but you never know. I don't see any signs of remnants of ashes. It looks to be all clean inside.
