Viking age coin and silver

I was out looking for areas to search, due to the high grass there are not many places, but received permission to search for one pasture with a large herd of cows, it was difficult too search because the cows were very social and repeatedly stood over the hole I dug and refused and move so I just had to close the hole and search further.
But there were still some nice finds.

Very nice coin.

Cows are easily scared, if you shout & wave your spade. I would never give up a dig to a Cow, or a horse, maybe an angry looking bull.

I scratched some of them on the head when I arrived :-) after that, they would probably that I would cuddle more with them and it did not help waving spade or shot after that .. Will go back once they are not there.

Nice medieval coin! Mainz and other citys down the Rhine were robbed by the Vikings a couple times, trading posts as well so possible the coin made it straight up to Norway. Gives me hope for Viking silver here. The stirrup mount i found some years ago could be Viking as well as Saxon...
