My mother found this locket at a junk store, no markings. Looks rose gold. Someone scratched the inside to see if it was solid gold. It sure looks solid to me, except the emblem looks vermeil. I guess they put it in the junk box because of no markings. It looks mighty old......I think it was a great deal for 3.00 bucks. Any info would be great.

Hey that's weird.... after seeing your picture my split second reaction was.... cool a book on lockets, I wonder if mine from almost 10 years ago would be in it? (it's a find I have just thought about very recently) Anyway, what's funny is mine is somewhat similar to the one on the right, and this is the first time I've seen another like it.... even if just in a book.

What does it say on the top of the catalog page in the second picture ? It looks like there's a disclaimer that they may not be solid gold but the whole thing dosn't show up in the pic. In any case it's an awsome score for the price you paid. Good eye.

Very nice Masonic locket. Maybe it was given by a Freemason to his 'Lady' ?
Anyhow, it's a great find & only $3 dollars , you can pay that much for a
Big Mac. I'd gladly take the locket.

"Many of the lower priced lockets and charms quoted below , although known as solid gold and sold as such by all jewelers , have the backs strengthened inside with silver solder ."
