Vintage Sterling Silver Elgin Watch

I hustled all morning and midday, but this was the only score. The case is Sterling, as well as the metal pieces of the band, but cannot tell if the movement is as well. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and comments.

That's an early example of wristwatch. Most men didn't except the idea of sporting an unmanly wristwatch in the early 20th century until WW1 came along and it was from there the wristwatch became more practical over a pocket watch. I've saved some examples of wristwatches from most of decades of the 20th century with the idea of making a timeline display of each wristwatch design through the decades of the 20th century. The collection would be a wristwatch like yours all the way to the seiko ruputer which is the very first smartwatch.

Great find the movement will be made from a nickel alloy At least the bridge plates anyway
