All, was going through my dad's estate and found this Virginia Treasury Note dated Mar. 13, 1862. There is no printing on the opposite side. Based on the picture does it look real or counterfeit? How can you tell?

Here is another website -> How To Identify Counterfeit Currency. The serial number 37865 on the note isn't listed there - but will keep looking. After I determine its authenticity I plan to gift it to a niece or nephew interested in family heirlooms.
 

Nice find they will love it as long as they dont spend it lol
