"W A W" Button help

"W A W" Button help

I am hoping someone can ID this button I dug up yesterday at an 1830's CW property I detect at.
It's the one in the picture with the shank missing. The back mark looks like it says "W AW".
It is a 20mm flat front button.
Any idea what company made this and the age?

It almost looks like it might say "W&AW" ?

Looks like W&AW to me also....tried googling backmarks and the couple of sites i looked at could not find that back mark.
Also since it is on the front im not sure it is a backmark.I have seen a button like that before but i cant remember where.........

You guys may be right. I couldn't make out what was in between the first "W" and the "A".
That is the backmark though, not the front. You can see where the shank used to be. The front is just flat with some gilt left on it.
I couldn't track it down in either of my button books.
