Dug this really cool token from the Oberlander Saloon in Waco, TX.....I've been digging a ton of cool stuff at my new location..it's pretty insane all of the relics that have been coming from this one, small area.. The Oberlander Saloon was at 123 S. Third St. in Waco Tx....maybe as early as 1896.... IMG_5432.webpIMG_5444.webpIMG_5443.webpOberlander saloon.webp

Nice find (and history) Baggins!

Congratulations on the cool token! :occasion14:

Very nice. I'd stay on that place for awhile if I were you.

old saloons are great places to hunt. Your sure more likely to lose things when your drinking

that token is almost the perfect description of an oxymoron...saloon-Waco-Baylor.

I'm down in Navasota, and had never heard of the Oberlander.

Great find, and congrats...

Super cool token , love saloon tokens I found one that sold for big $$$

No doubt about that. I have been guilty a few times myself.

That's a cool token
Congrats

That corrosion on your aluminum token is an ongoing process. In my opinion, proper cleaning of that specimen would be beneficial. I have found around 100 trade tokens and conserved a number of them. A brass bristled brush would remove almost all of that corrosion, and make legible previously covered numbers and letters. There will be some pitting were the crust was, but it's still lots better. Don't ever use this method on a brass token though. The dug aluminum tokens are a different animal than the brass examples, and they almost always have the same condition problem.

Other than that, your saloon token is a little more special than most of them. You probably don't want to try exchanging that one for a beer anymore.

Super nice token! Congrats

Sweet token from a Texas Saloon, wow! Must be a thrill to hunt those type of places and there must be some goods finds that come along. Hope you find them, good luck on your next hunt! ;)

My boss works down in Waco. If I ever get down there, I'm bringing my machines because I've already researched some spots outside of town. Cool token.
