Two recent finds - the heavy hook looks like a wagon part and it still has some red paint on it. The hook portion is 7" long but is has an odd piece forge welded onto the nose of the hook that looks odd. Nice forged chain links. It was dug at an old cellar that is right beside what we call the stagecoach road. Apparently the building at the cellar site was a weigh station. The other piece looks like the handle from a cast iron cooking pot. It was found at another cellar up the road that dates back to the early 1800's. The piece is 10" long and had a hole at each end. At first I thought door handle but the arc would make it hard to attach.
