Relic Hunting
Hello Everyone,

With the rapid melting of the snow my local farm was somewhat ripe for hunting. In the wet/muddy soil digging was a breeze, but very heavy. This place has been pounded by “everyone”, but with care and proper technique it continues to deliver each and every hunt! As always the iron was flowing, but some of them are very cool, will have to clean-up. The keeper relics included: two very nice buckles, a large flat button, a bale seal, bird tag and a small button. The coins were few and far between, but certainly welcome: 1909 Barber dime, 1911 Lincoln cent, 1936 S Buffalo nickel and an 1890 Indian Head cent. All in all, it was a great day in the 50 degree temperature with very little wind! After the hunt, I was covered in mud, brought me back to when I was little kid. Looking forward to a few more hunts this week in the muddy field.

Thank you for looking!

GL & HH

Great hunt Bud. Nice finds. Spring will be here before we know it.

Better than I usually do in ANY farm field. I almost never find a coin of any kind!

Nice!

very nice! which detector was used?.........:icon_thumleft:

Great hunt POE and respect to you for getting out there in the cold. Soon it will be thawed. That field will probably give you more! Sub 8-)

Congrats Prof, not the greatest of conditions to work with but we do what we have to do to get our swing on...nice Barber and relics, I'm interested in seeing the iron after some TLC...thx for sharing, ddf..

Hello angelito1,

I used the Garrett AT Gold - wide open with the small 5" x 8" coil. Using a very slow walk, overlapping each swing by 50% and digging about 99% of the signals.

Regards,

Doc

That is dedication Doc. You got bad like many of us. Congrats on eking out a silver and 3 other old coins. :occasion14:

Whoa! That's a beautiful stud chape buckle man! Early and intact!

Bringing home nice finds like the ones you got under those conditions, , proves that you are a real trooper.

Snowy fields have been very good to you of late. Great bunch of finds.

You da man, Doc!! Those boots must have weighed a ton slogging through that field..............
But, you shrugged it all aside and brought home some great keepers!! Congrats!!
