Waltham Wrist Compass & Gold Coral Necklace

I swung by a local thrift store and found a Vietnam War era Waltham wrist compass on the watch tree. It looks like it has the original strap but I don’t see any military markings on the back. I also picked up this 14 karat gold angel skin coral and freshwater pearl necklace for $5. These seem to go for good money. I also got a mint condition Casio AMW320 R for $10. The last was this very nice looking Wittnauer 18kt gold plated ladies watch for two dollars. It runs nice.

Sweet finds all around. Grandpa randazzo used one of those compasses for orienteering until he died at 103. On the angel skins - I’ve found that if you price them really high you get good money for them. I think it’s like the amber pieces in that if you shoot too low people assume it’s fake. My two cents for what it’s worth.

I've got one of those Waltham wrist compass, but not as good of condition as yours. Mine says Waltham on the face and has a cotton kahaki strap where as yours looks like maybe made of nylon? I was thinking mine might be either WW2 or Korean war-era?

I believe this is Korean War. W.W.C.co are part of the 28k made for Vietnam. 7k were lost in transit. Upon receipt soldiers said the non waterproof case made them useless in the humid conditions of the jungle and many were tossed. These seem to be rarer and carry a value premium over the other models.
