I love my Tesoro Outlaw it's a great detector, but I just could not resist trading it in on a new Black Vaquero (more depth capability) to go along with my Black Tejon, now I have Twins...:tongue3: I love the new black color scheme on the detectors. I would have kept the Outlaw but four detectors is my limit for room in the house without the wife wanting to rough me up..Lol :dontknow:

I like will use both detectors depending on the day and the hunt. I really wanted the Vaquero for my smaller lighter travel unit or for days when I just want to swing a lighter unit. Also to take with me on our travel trailer trips when camping like I did with the Outlaw. Also now I will have one or the other as backup to the other on those all day hunts in those far away places we all seek out. ( A big plus here is they share the same coils)..Lol. :laughing7:

Happy Hunting To All,

Oh the shame. My Outlaw shed a tear today.;(

Take care of those black girls. ^_^
They say that once you go black... Oh, never mind; different hobby.

I always liked the Vaquero a little better than the Outlaw....just seems "hotter" to me.

I really wanted to give the outlaw a shot. When mine came in broke i thought to long about it. I didn't want to be less depth than my hunting buddies vaq. either so i went with the Tejón Black. I know that might sound ridiculous but they say if you think long you think wrong. No doubt i would have been happy with any upgrade, plus there is curiosity of if I'm missing stuff due to the compadre being not as deep. So far i have found more with the compadre, that is i hope because i have used it way more!!

You got an even trade for a new black vaquero with the outlaw?

Yes,

I traded even this package. My Outlaw with the three coil package plus a Tesoro 7" DD Widescan coil along with an older pare of Killer Bee headphones in great shape for a new Black Tesoro Vaquero with the 8x11 RSD coil on it. My Outlaw was well taken care of and in mint condition.

The deal worked for me.8-)

Happy Hunting, :headbang:

So Joe, I am really thinking about the Tejon as well. Do you like the Tejon? Does it hold its depth at high disc settings? That was the one thing I did not like about the Outlaw... it lost too much depth when you set the disc high for coins above zinc.

Those coils have some serious cables on them..! I love Tesoro's.

Did you add to them; or is tesoro doing that stock?

Looks like the shaft is wrapped in tape as well; so I'm guessing it's aftermarket.

Nothing is after market. Yes shaft is wrapped in tape to protect it and the coil wire is wrapped with a slit wire loom protection material.
