hey gldhntr,
went buy the area and there was a construction company there. I had asked to look around but they would not allow it because of the equipment...... left them a card in case they might let me in on a later date...

free2detect,
had my stuff confiscated at padre but got it back, had to get an attorney involved... Padre is not a safe place to hunt unless you know the area well... they wait for people like us to come there

Hiya Hitman!

I'm new to this forum but not to Treasure Hunting/MD. I've been in the Houston area for a little over a year. I know of 2 MD/TH'ing clubs that are close to you. The first is in Houston itself; Houston Archaeology & Recovery Club, http://www.texascouncil.com/clubs/houstonclub.htm. The other meets NW of Houston in Conroe; Montgomery County Artifacts Recovery Club, http://www.texascouncil.com/clubs/montgomeryclub.htm.

I have been away from MD/TH'ing for about 2 years, but this forum, which I recently joined, has begun to re-kindle the TH'ing/MD bug in me again!

BTW if your looking for a ppl to occasionally partner up with in the Houston area, I would be interested.

whats the deal in south padre.... been wanting to hunt there. how did you get your stuff confiscated. were you on a public beach ..... or is it all private...

Hello gang today I was detecting in Meyer Park,on Cypresswood, Harris county Precinct 4 & I was given a form letter from an employee stating no metal detecting in Precinct 4 parks. They are using the state law of protecting artifacts. I can send you a copy of this letter. This could be the start of losing the right to detect in all parks.

there's also a new one in Fort Bend at www.finderskeeperstreasureseekers.com they have about 12 members seems like they do a lot of hunts. I'm interested if you guys start one, or if you guys just want to hunt let me know.
