I've started searching my 7th box of nickels and have found only one war nickel so far(the first box I searched). Has anyone else been having a difficult time finding silver war nickels, or can share a similar experience? :hello:

just finished box #344, 43P, (2) 44P, 45D plus an 88P die clash. close to 400 war nicks from 344 boxes. dug 5 war nicks in 3 years. the good ones with partial steps and strong pillars will sell for $2-4. only one 43D found, very rare!!!!

Long term average for me is a hair over 1 war nick per box. I have seen many boxes with none and a few with four or five.

There is far more to look for in a box of nicks than the occasional 35%er. I have found many proofs, errors, and other Jeffs that have at least a niche market.

I average about 0.8 war nickels per $100. Never really had a big war nickel score, most ever is 5 from $64.

I actually am finding more Buffalo nickels than war nickels. The last box I got 2 Buffalo and 0 War. Last week I got more Buffalo and 1 War. I only do 1 box a week of nickels though. I spend more time on halves and dimes....Brad
