Hey guys, I’m still new here and just wanted to share my finds today. The casings are stamped 303 British super speed, the dog tag is dated 1925 & the wheat penny is 1935. Also found the lead ball which has a small (looks to be molded “flat spot” on it) any info would be great. Each find was around 100yrds apart.

Looks like you had a good day out. That dog tag is sweet.

Nice, yes the dog tag is way cool, but my fave is the steering wheel off a mouse's go cart...Ddf

Great finds on a muddy day.. The flat spot on your round ball is probably the sprue. The excess lead that is cut off in the mold leaves that flat spot and it is called the sprue.

Nice finds! GL & HH

sweetness great post thanks

I agree with roundness. The flat spot on your ball is where the sprue was cut off. Here is a collection of Revolutionary War musket balls. The top ones never had the sprue cut off, and the bottom ones were finished.
