Hi all. Cjon455 and I finally got out together again today. It was a nice cool 56 degrees F at 7:30 am...perfect day to go digging. Unfortunately we spent exactly 2 hours searching for a site before we finally found someone home that agreed to let us hunt. The first place was an old farmhouse owned by a lady from New York who was very agreeable to letting us. We spent a couple hours there without a lot to show and thanked her before we left. The next place was owned by a very spry 86 year old man who was very interesting to talk to. He would go from Chris to myself and back again as he thought of a new bit of info. His grandfather was one of the many to witness and be involved in the horror of Gettysburg. I found out he and I had both been stationed at Keesler AFB, he for basic training and I for technical training. This place provided a bit more coins for Chris and myself as well as the absolute ugliest find I have ever seen found by a detector, lol. Chris made the find so he can let you in on it. Thanks for looking.

Let's let the members be the judge of that, lol. Make sure and post something for a size reference. Thanks for a good day again!

Ground Radio Maintenance for me. The sights were nice and the seafood was fresh but man, the humidity was killer!

Nice finds Dave!

it does look like something a ugly sista would wear:laughing7:Is the stone real

Sounds like you had a great day. Nice finds. Congrats.

Very nice hunt and an interesting gentleman. I was reading that their are very few people alive that had Grandparents in that war. Most are great or great great Grand parents.
Any ways glad you guys got out and found some treasure!

Thank you sir! I actually just quit hunting and started talking to him. He was very interesting and his mind was still very quick. When I asked him if he had pics of his grandfather, he said he had passed them on to his nieces and nephews. I didn't ask, but I think he had no children.

No children= Old age clear memory! haha Good luck out there.

Any time you can get out is a good day. I've had plenty of days with nothing to show for it but some clad and a bag full of junk but I was still happy. Good luck on your next hunt.

I love the merc. But let that blue stone turn out to be a sapphire and that ring is going to look a whole lot prettier then it does now.
